This past Sunday I fished with a father and son team up from Santa Rosa. The river was in good shape as the rain never materialized like the weatherman predicted. The morning started out slow, we didn't have a bite all morning. But my guys were gung ho and on the second drift we finally hooked up. The first fish we hooked was small, so he was quickly landed and released. The second fish was a dandy, a 15lb buck which gave us all we could handle. We ended the day 2 for 2, which seemed to be inline with the other boats. The Smith had been fishable up until Friday, but the heavy rains finally blew it out. It peaked at 15 ft on the upper gauge this evening, but with more rain predicted for the next few days, it may not be fishable until early next week. I'll put up a report as soon as I get back on the water. Fish On! Patrick- |
